CNY Eve with lots of BANG!!

Without fail, the Vuns will always celebrate the New Year Eve with savoury chinese dishes cooked by MIL. That I hafta salute my MIL for cooking for more than 10 of us.

After putting lil C to bed, just before midnight, I went to take my hot shower after a loooong day! I just love hot bath that I could take forever half an hour just being in the bathroom!

Then, bram..bam..bam..bam... !!!! I rushed out into the bedroom just to checked if lil C was awaken with all that banging noise! The New Year was welcomed by the neighbouring residence with the thunder of firecrackers & booming fireworks. Luckily lil C was in deep sleep so nothing bothered him.

I wondered, despite the government had banned the firecracker, the people were able to find their way to purchase them... Wondering what kind of stringent Customs check we have in this country? Why can the smugglers bring the firecrackers/works in? Sigh! quite dissapointed with the security checks which doesnt work! Waste of time, waste of the taxpayers $$$!!

While these questions playing in my head, I sat on the bed, looking out through the window. Despite the loud noise, I was enjoying the beautiful bright light from the fireworks effect... hehehe.. a cheap entertainment, giving me such peace!

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Today is the 4th day of CNY. (I was told that there are limited used of the word "Chinese New Year" outside Malaysia. Instead, it is refered as Lunar Year because even the Koreans, Japanese, Jews uses the same calendar as chinese. Interesting fact)

Here are some pix of lil C before the CNY. Introducing him the lion dance where his PohPoh bought him a vcd on the lion dances competition. Yee Poh (Popoh's younger sister) got him the lion dance hand puppet. And GongGong bought him the chinese costume. So sweet of them! I was thinking maybe lil C can join the lion dance group, just to get closer to his culture <-- dreaming!

"mmphh..mpph... " busy chewing the mat

"Hello.. Helllooo.. PaPa??" Caught in the act..
Look how he climbed on top of his PaPa's bag to play with the house phone.

Sexy Pose.. hahahah

"huh"

"Urgh,, Urghh" climbing down from his bench
"Haha.. Did it!"

"zzooom"crawling so fast!!

"Hmmm... whats next?" he has this habit of scratching his head

while the rest, continued mah jong D3

CNY D2 @ Kudat

We were in Kudat for the 2nd day of CNY. Left home around 9am and arrived Kudat around 11.30am. Lil C slept the whole journey.. soo cute! Here's his pics on the way to the Coconut Town.

"MaMa, doggiee" means lil C wanna bring his best friend along..

"Dont forget my rugsack" most important thing

On the way... Lil C looked sslleeeeppyyyy

"scruff..scruff" playing with doggie

Biting the best part, doggie's tail

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Arrived in Kudat, lunch in the car

Burp, done with lunch... drink some water!

Visited friends there and again distributed some Ang Pows.. hehehe... This is a reciprocate act when friends gave Lil C Ang Pows.. hee hee hee..

Left for home (KK) around 3pm and arrived KK around 7pm. Well, on the way home, PaPa stopped the car to get some local corns... MaMa doesnt really fancy corn, but loves the famous roasted corn.. yummy yum! The cons about stopping is that it woke up Lil C.. Once he got up, he didnt wanna continue his sleep... Imagine, MaMa hadda entertained him for like 2 hrs plus, just to make him mentally occupied and not cranky... Well, we hadda stopped at Kota Belud coz lil C needed a break.. Maybe sitting too long.. Arrived home, MaMa was kinda carsick after turning here and there, played with Lil C on our journey home.

Dinner at BIL, which lives only next block to us. Then, Mah Jong session continued... Lil C & MaMa was ZZzzzzzz... tired due to the looooooooooooooooong day trip..

CNY D1 - GONG XI FA CAI

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

We had our CNY eve dinner last nite. Morning, we had family breakfast of last night's leftover. hehehe.. Lil C was sooo excited watching the Lion dance that came to the house in the morning. We were expecting he would be terrified with the gong/drum's noise. Well, he enjoyed it and refused to go to sleep.. He was giving gestures that he wanted to wait for the next lion to come.. heheh.. so cute.
"Gong Xi Fa Cai" from Yi Poh, while carried by AhPak

Visited friends & family's house, distributed Ang Pow (Red Packets) to the children and the unmarried ones..

Dinner at home.. Yawn! At night, the bunch were playing Mah Jong!
